What Is All the Fuss About Zimbali Coastal Resort March 29th, 2021
The KwaZulu-Natal coastline has long been a favourite holiday destination for local South Africans and many international tourists. This stretch of coast from Port Edward to the south all the way to beyond Richards Bay is strewn with miles of golden sandy beaches. The area just to the north of Durban is known as the Dolphin Coast for obvious reasons. It should be stated though that it is common to see dolphins along the whole of the coastline of South Africa and indeed there are lots of places that you can see them from just standing on the beach or promenade.
Zimbali Coastal Resort is within a 45 kilometre drive to the north of Durban. This purpose-built holiday resort occupies an area of some 700 hectares full of indigenous plants and wildlife. This elegant and luxurious resort has been cleverly designed around a stunning 18 hole golf course. The golf course was designed by Tom Weiskopf who had a strict remit to deliver a golf course where conservation takes precedence and he has certainly delivered that.
From the moment you arrive at the resort you immediately have a sense of luxury and the promise of great service. As well as the world class hotel with rim-pool there are numerous well-appointed holiday homes dotted amongst the lush vegetation. From the outset of this resort many South Africans bought homes here to escape their busy lives in the cities to enjoy peace and tranquillity mixed with numerous outdoor activities. It is however possible to rent many of these holiday homes at Zimbali Coastal Resort for a short break or an extended holiday.
As well as enjoying a round of golf here you can go horse-riding, play tennis, take a walk through the forests or along the beach, go swimming or just lie down and relax reading a good book. The resort is one of the finest coastal resorts in the whole of South Africa and works hard to keep up its extremely high standard for residents and visitors alike.
Many of the holiday homes at Zimbali Coastal Resort have stunning views over the golf course, the Indian Ocean and the indigenous bush. The large properties here, some with their own pools, are ideal for family or group holidays and can make it a very affordable luxury vacation. Being on a golf course many of the homes also come equipped with their own golf cart which you can use during your stay here.
